Terrazzo restoration in Venice is some of our favorite work, because Venice is built out of exactly the housing stock terrazzo belongs to. The island and the mainland neighborhoods around it went up through the fifties and sixties on poured slabs with terrazzo throughout.
What we find in Venice floors
Most Venice floors we see are original and in good condition under whatever went over them. The damage that needs repair is almost always from old flooring, from slab trenching during a re-pipe, or from termite treatment holes drilled through the floor.
A lot of these houses are second homes or recent purchases where the new owner has decided to take the house back to what it was. Terrazzo is the single biggest visual change available in that project, and it is already paid for.

Do you come to Venice regularly?
Yes. Venice is one of our regular markets, not an outlying one.
Our house has terrazzo in some rooms and tile over it in others. What now?
That is common. Tile laid over terrazzo usually was not installed to bond well, so it tends to come up without taking the floor with it, and the whole floor gets finished together.
There are holes drilled through the floor from termite treatment. Can those be filled?
Yes, and they are one of the three more common things we fill. They get matching aggregate and color-matched resin like any other repair.
